Education Events featuring Emerging Quartets and Composers
Free and open to the public each year, Joan Tower selects two emerging composers and the Muir String Quartet selects two emerging quartets. They all come together in Deer Valley for about three weeks to share musical ideas, practice and perform. During this time we sponsor a number of events that are free and open to the public that will give you the chance to observe and interact with the composers and performers. See the schedule below for information about the public events. check our website for updated information as the summer progresses, as well as directions to the venues.

Utah Conservatory From SLC, take the Kimball Junction (I-224) exit. Take a right off the exit ramp, and then turn left at the light by McDonalds. Right after you pass the Wendy's on that block, turn left, entering the parking area for the small shopping mall. The Utah Conservatory is upstairs in the building on your right, on the opposite end of the building from the nightclub, Suede. The sign on the outside of the building bears the old name Park City Arts and Music Conservatory.
David P. Gardner Hall From the Salt Lake International Airport: 1. Take I-80 East approximately 1.5 miles to the North Temple exit. 2. Follow North Temple approximately 3 miles to State Street (one block beyond the LDS Temple). 3. Turn right on State Street, and go south 5 blocks to 400 South. 4. Turn left, proceeding east on 400 South for approximately 1.5 miles until you reach the University of Utah campus. 5. The David P. Gardner Hall is on the northwestern end of the Presidents Circle, just west of Kingsbury Hall.
From I-15 northbound: 1. Take the eastbound 600 South exit. 2. At State Street turn left, proceeding 2 blocks north until you reach 400 South. 3. Turn right, proceeding east on 400 South for approximately 2 miles until you reach the University of Utah campus. 4. The David P. Gardner Hall is on the northwestern end of the Presidents Circle, just west of Kingsbury Hall.
From I-15 southbound: 1. Take the eastbound 600 North exit. 2. At 300 West turn right, proceeding approximately 1.5 miles south until you reach 400 South. 3. Turn left, proceeding east on 400 South for approximately 2 miles until you reach the University of Utah campus. 4. The David P. Gardner Hall is on the northwestern end of the Presidents Circle, just west of Kingsbury Hall.
Caution: The Presidents Circle is a one-way street. Parking is available in the Presidents Circle.
