David Lockington, Conductor
Anne Akiko Meyers, Violin  (www.anneakikomeyers.com)

Felix Mendelssohn ~ Overture to Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, op. 27
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart ~ Concerto No. 3 in G Major, K 216 (with Cadenza by Wynton Marsalis)
Edward Elgar ~ Enigma Variations, op. 36

Written when he was 19, Mozart's Third Violin Concerto shows his growing maturity as a composer. Since cadenzas were intended as improvisational figures in Mozart's time but rarely performed as such today, in this piece we'll showcase a cadenza written by a modern master of improvisation, Wynton Marsalis.
